CARING AND COMPASSION: Our Ministry offers heartfelt support to pet owners grieving the loss of their beloved companions, providing comfort through prayer and sympathy cards. Our ministry is a group offering a comforting presence and understanding.
ACTIVE PARTNERS: The Saint Francis of Assisi Pet Ministry collaborates with Religious Educators, Dog Obedience Clubs, and Pet Prayer Events to promote a deeper appreciation for animals and creation. We provide opportunities that foster a community of care and stewardship for God's creatures.
REACHING OUT: We actively engage with the Humane Society of Scott County, The Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Religious Educators, Joey's Pet Food Drive, and the Red Cross to extend compassion and care to animals and people in need. We support initiatives that provide essential services, resources, and education, fostering a community of empathy and support.
EDUCATION: The Saint Francis of Assisi Pet Ministry sponsors various activities, including Pet Ministry Camp, guest speakers on Pet Palliative Care, and workshops featuring Joey's Famous Dog Treats and behavior specialists. We also raise community awareness on important issues, such as the ethical concerns surrounding puppy mills, to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
The Pet Ministry offers a PET THERAPY HANDLER SCHOLARSHIP that helps cover training costs. This required training is necessary to become certified and insured as a Pet Therapy Handler.
